Wisconsin Public Service Volunteer Awards

Volunteers brighten lives, including the people and organizations they serve, and their own lives. Please honor a volunteer, or group of volunteers, by nominating them for one of the WPS Volunteer Awards. The Volunteer Awards program is orchestrated by the Volunteer Center of Brown County in partnership with Wisconsin Public Service. The deadline for nominations is March 9, 2012.

Nominating a volunteer celebrates their service and creates greater awareness of the community organization where they give their time and talent.

The following are ways to complete and submit nomination forms:

  • Be as specific and concise as possible.

  • Assume judges know nothing about the nominee or the organization, so tell the story as you would to a stranger.
  • Well-written nominations score higher with judges. If necessary, ask for help from someone you know who has excellent writing skills.
  • Have another person proofread the nomination for errors or omissions.

Need: Briefly describe nominee’s volunteer services and the need for these services in the community.

Impact: Describe the impact or difference the nominee’s volunteer service made in the community. Please be specific.

Initiative: Did nominee start a new program, use new methods to solve problems, initiate activities? Explain.
