The Volunteer Center of Brown County is a non-profit organization whose vision is “Building a Stronger Community through Volunteerism.” Serving over 200 community organizations and local schools in the Green Bay area, the Volunteer Center mobilizes volunteers to deliver creative solutions to address serious community needs.

The strength of a community is directly related to its volunteers. One of the most successful ways of mobilizing volunteers is through local Volunteer Centers.

National Mentoring Month

National Mentoring Month is an opportunity to celebrate the powerful impact that volunteer mentors can have on the youth of our community and country.  All children need to have active, caring adults in their lives.  For a variety of circumstances, some kids need to have mentoring relationships that are orchestrated through organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Pals Program, or other organizations.

Studies have shown that children with active mentors in their lives have less anti-social behavior, better academic performance, less substance abuse issues, and overall better futures.

To learn more about how you can positively impact the life of a child or adolescent by becoming a mentor, view the video below.
